Bring it.

1 Nov

It is officially Novemeber 1st.  Time to put the game face on.  Time to work.  Right?  Soon very soon.

It is almost time for me to ramp up my training again.  Time to have a purpose.  Time to have a plan.  Soon.  Very soon.

I felt so blessed today to be riding around on November 1st in 75 degree weather, in true epic Marin conditions.  It may be snowing in Colorado, but who needs arm warmers here?  Arm warmers are for the birds.  Well, for now at least.

There is a new website for those who enjoy cycling and the good food… It is called Velocurean.  Check it out!  Great concept… Their latest article is on Bay Area cycling.  I “ran” into these guys in Pt. Reyes Station with some of my favorites, stopping, having a “civilized” cup of coffee and pastries at Bovine Bakery.  Off-season captured…

    Alison,
My name is Jenny and I am very inspired by your journey to pro cycling. I can relate to you in some ways, being happy go lucky but being really determined when it counts. I live in Austin and am pretty competative in triathlons, and am considering just focusing on the bike. My background is in running, but once I started doing tri’s I have really fallen in love with cycling. I love racing and competition and would like to be able to compete at a pro level some day, and am not sure if that is in triathlon or in cycling; which is definately up to God. I have been encouraged by some people to just focus on the bike, because they think I may have more potential in cycling.
Was it challenging making the transition from riding in a triathlon to road racing? Was your first crit pretty scary? Do you have any suggestions on how to choose a cycling team to join?
Also, I am in the phase of my athletic journey to seek out sponsors and I’d like to ask your advice on how to prepare a portfolio to gain sponsors for cylcing and triathlon.

    Thanks for the inspiration,
    Jenny
